This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book highlights new domains of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in a digital age, since the boundaries of "organizations" and their stakeholders therein become ever more complex. It explores the world of assisted reproductive technologies through the twin lenses of CSR and feminist theory. The book also explores partnerships between CSR and human resource management functions in promoting equality and diversity in the workplace. It provides a rare glimpse into on the ground experiences of the women "beneficiaries" of corporate women's empowerment programmes. The book highlights the contradiction that these technologies can be liberating at the same time as they can be oppressive, and her reflections provide important insights into CSR and gender in an area that has not received much attention from CSR scholars to date.
