ABSTRACT

Base of the Pyramid (BoP) ventures have gained significant momentum over the past years, not only achieving financial returns for companies and BoP communities alike, but also changing the landscape of how to reach social impact via companies (Kolk, Rivera-Santos and Rufin 2013). While many BoP ventures have started to scale, a new concept has emerged to describe the nature of BoP operations. Nowadays, BoP businesses are often referred to as ‘inclusive businesses’, and ‘inclusiveness’ has become the new paradigm describing the modus operandi of these companies.
