ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the argument that Jewish Home's success is based on the formulation and development of a party model that will be described by the term "open camp party," as opposed to the similar yet different model that preceded it: "camp party." "Camp party"—a term proposed by Eliezer Don-Yehiya—is a party that is identified with a distinct social, cultural, and ideological camp that is defined by several main aspects: the composition of its leadership; the composition of its voters; and its messages and patterns of operation. Throughout the election campaign, Jewish Home had to contend with the charge that the party is sectoral—that is, a camp party. The voting stations where Jewish Home enjoyed greater support are mostly located within the Green Line. The analysis of the voting stations is based on a comparison of the election results of 2009 versus those of 2013 in various groups of defined voting stations with distinctive results.
