ABSTRACT

Promotion of employability consists mainly of developing what are called active measures furthering adaptation to the labor market, as a supplement to income-assistance measures for persons deprived of employment, in a preventive and individualized manner if possible. The step for the development of employability commenced by states relies on the mobilization of compensation funds, persons and institutions and on the creation of new employment opportunities. Job flexibility and employability of employees are two performance factors of enterprises. Job flexibility and career breaks, determined by current labor market standards, impose upon workers a capacity for permanent adaptation to the evolution of social and economic needs. The adaptation of employees to changes presupposes in particular that employers ensure adequate visibility for their employees concerning the environment and objectives of the enterprise and the means of maintaining their employability in the labor market.
