ABSTRACT
This paper describes my experiences at the Linwood Children’s Center, a day care and residential treatment center for autistic and schizophrenic children. Since the expertise I bring to Linwood is mainly that of laboratory experiments with animals, my participation in the Linwood project (Ferster, 1966) illustrates one mode of using laboratory knowledge to find more effective treatments and better teaching methods.
