ABSTRACT

The assessment of change in avoidance behavior and its generalized effects in experimental analogue research of behavior therapy has led to the development of the Fear Survey Schedule (FSS-I, Lang and Lazovik, 1963; FSS-II, Geer, 1963; and, FSS-III, Wolpe and Lang, 1964). While the FSS-I and FSS-II were designed for experimental use and have been statistically analyzed (Rubin et al, 1968) the FSS-III was ostensibly designed for clinical application. However, the FSS-III has since been employed in experimental analogue research despite the lack of a formal statistical analysis of the schedule.
