ABSTRACT
I can’t say that I was very pleased when my first granddaughter was bom. My son Douglas was very young and had not been together with his girlfriend for very long. They had not planned it, and were not ready for that sort of commitment. Douglas was working as a hairdresser. He had just fully qualified, and had become the manager of a hairdressers and was working very long hours and was not around for long enough to give Cheryl much help in looking after Susie. So we could see problems ahead.
