ABSTRACT

My work is so much a part of my life in the community and with my family that it is hard to see where one stops and another starts. I could never just settle for a quiet family life, just doing the washing and getting the tea or sitting in front of the telly. I think I would die. I have no idea what is going on at the moment on the TV, though I watch it sometimes to relax. My family is my top priority, and I like a good dance and a little party if I can. But I have to keep busy. So far I have found that my family can be incorporated into the things I do outside. If I’m looking after a baby I would not stay here doing nothing else. I would take it along with me. I have been in youth work since 1973, and that all came about through my own children really.
