ABSTRACT

The history of forced labour on the territory of the German Reich indicates to what extent the German population was seduced by propaganda against “alien peoples” and “bad races”. Civilian society, thus destroyed, made possible a barbarism in Europe at the end of the Modern Age that remains unparalleled. The hundreds of thousands of deported civilians from Poland and the Soviet Union were only talked about for a short time. In the big camps in the Soviet controlled zone of Germany, everybody was checked by the NKD. Most of the men, prisoners of war and civilian forced- labourers were sent immediately to Siberia to be punished because they had not killed themselves while being prisoners of the Germans. Hitler’s aim was to control the Soviet-Union politically and economically in order to exploit their resources and to enslave the population. The “Jewish - Bolshevist Elite” and the Jews in East-central Europe were to be exterminated.
