ABSTRACT

This part introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters. The part examines acting response of people from Central and Eastern Europe, i.e., from countries of emerging economy, to the challenge they experience. It aims to review how and to what extent university education plays the role to create conditions for competitive advantage in the countries in question. The part explores two different anti-positivistic methodologies: praxiology and fuzzy thinking. Praxiology provides the basis for explaining the economic behaviors of people, consisting in exchange and presents quantitatively in monetary units. Praxiology is concerned with practical aspects of philosophy and the understanding of human action. The part discusses the three praxiological and ethical E’s - effectiveness, efficiency and ethicality. It provides presents basic issues of cooperative actions, being multiple-subject actions, and the related issues of different types of responsibility.
