ABSTRACT

When we discuss the role of these “unrecognized resistances” during the Second World War, we may wonder if among the actions done by Americans to aid the Resistance some have remained unknown to the French public. Everybody knows, of course, the American soldiers, the GIs, and such famous names as those of Eisenhower and George Patton, but many are those whose deeds are now forgotten, despite many books and specialized articles, as well as commemorative memorials.
