ABSTRACT
This study was designed to provide information about how complex cognitive capabilities can be described in terms of more elementary cognitive processes. The theory on which the study was based was described in some detail earlier in this book (see Horn, chap. 4, this volume). Several forms of intelligence are recognized in that theory. Particular interest in the present study is focused on two of these intelligences—crystallized intelligence (Gc) and fluid intelligence (Gf).
