ABSTRACT

This woman’s spouse was in a motorcycle accident 9 months prior to her writing this in an essay about her situation (Chwalisz & Stark-Wroblewski, 1996). She reported that her husband was diagnosed with a “permanent frontal lobe injury,” although the injury was mild enough for him to return to work. This caregiver is most disturbed by her husband’s “inability to show any emotion beside anger.” She receives assistance through counseling, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) support group, and friends. She takes Prozac for depression.
