ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on two linguistic phenomena found in the discourse of Israeli families: the multiple usage of cognitive expressions and versatile linguistic usage to create a humorous effect. Both kinds of expressions reflect the participants’ cognitive processes and serve as devices for cultivating the cognition of the participating children.
