ABSTRACT

When Gary Klein invited me to discuss Karl Weick's presentation, I felt at the same time honored and apprehensive. After all, Weick's Social Psychology of Organizing (Weick, 1979) is one of the most thoroughly read and re-read books in my library. However "Dooty is dooty," as Long John Silver used to say cheerfully, and because opportunities of this kind do not come my way too often, I graciously agreed.
