ABSTRACT

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) falls into the family of personality assessment instruments designed to make it possible to test and use a specific psychological theory. The theory behind the MBTI is C.G.Jung's theory of psychological types (Jung, 1921/1971), that part of Jung's overall theory that is specifically concerned with the way people consciously use their minds. MBTI users apply Jung's powerful framework for looking at individual differences in their relationships with others, their work, and their inner lives.
