ABSTRACT

It is obvious from the vast range of the chapters in this book that the topic of the relationship between character, temperament, and personality is enormous. This view is reinforced by the many chapters and the colossal reference lists on this subject in the Handbook of Personality and Intelligence (Saklofske & Zeidner, 1995). To deal adequately with all this quickly is, fortunately, impossible. I say “fortunately” because there are two kinds of academics; those who revel in references, and their opposites. I am in the latter class.
