ABSTRACT
Betty has been diagnosed HIV-positive and she is terrified that if her husband, Tim, tests HIV-negative, he will take their child and leave her. During a difficult period in their marriage they separated, and she had a brief affair with a man whom she later learned has AIDS…. Betty did not tell her husband about this affair when they reconciled, and she can’t bring herself to reveal the secret to Tim in this time of crisis. In her desperation, she prays that Tim will also test positive for HIV so that he will not discover the affair and desert her….
