ABSTRACT
Test scores are used to help make decisions: decisions to hire or reject job applicants; decisions to award or withhold scholarships; decisions to pass or fail a course; decisions on the direction of further instruction. But how are these scores determined? What do they mean? How much can we count on them? Can we get more from them than we currently do?
