ABSTRACT
Hugo Munsterberg, one of the first forensic psychologists, wrote in his 1908 book On the Witness Stand, "we do not grasp for the poisonous fruit, because the danger holds us back" (p. 237). We assume he was thinking about the nonpsychopathic individual who is, at times, inhibited and fearful, like many of the patients we see in our clinical practices.
