ABSTRACT

Psychologists make inferences about the internal stoicture and states of an organism by studying the time required for subjects to make a specific response to a given stimulus under varying conditions (cf. Kantowitz, Roediger, & Elmes, 1988). This procedure, as Kantowitz et al. said, “gives psychologists a window into the mind” (p. 202).
