ABSTRACT
Monica asked Barbara and Mark to report on the regional mentoring meetings that took place in the southern and western regions. They described events and speakers at their institutes, both of which went very well. Nancy described for the group a plan for the Network that was approved by the Network's board of directors the summer before. The next agenda item was SOFIE (Schools On-line for Interactive Education). Tony computerized much of the NFDC's information, for example, converting the NFDC directory to fully electronic form, and Deb briefly told the group about some of the changes that would entail. The January meeting of the NFDC was in Asheville, the school Barbara and Monica were from. This was the first school to have implemented a local FDC, and there would be a meeting between the NFDC and the members of the local FDC.
