ABSTRACT

This study examines certain uses of “think talk” (expressions such as I think and What do you think?) in student-led classroom discussions on controversial issues. Data are drawn from recorded discussions in several undergraduate critical thinking classes at a large, western-U.S., public university, 1996-1998.
