ABSTRACT

Whole-cortex magnetoencephalography (MEG) and fetal MEG (fMEG) systems produced by CTF Systems Inc. are described. These systems are operated with digitally based superconducting quantum interference device electronics with a 32- bit dynamic range and excellent linearity The primary sensors are radial gradiometers with baselines selected for optimum signal-to-noise ratio. These systems are equipped with a powerful synthetic noise cancellation, which in combination with conventional biomagnetic shielded rooms provides noise cancellation in excess of 7 orders of magnitude and superior vibrational immunity.
