ABSTRACT

The Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology describe technology as the modification of the natural environment to satisfy human needs and wants (International Technology Education Association, 2000). Technological literacy is defined as the ability to use, manage, assess, and understand technology. A technologically literate person comprehends technology in increasing nuanced ways that evolve over the course of a life span. Specifically, technological literacy includes understanding what technology is, how it is designed, how it influences social structures and interactions, and how it is in turn shaped by societal structures.
