ABSTRACT
Family literacy services, as defined by federal legislation and the National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL, 2001), include four interdependent components: children’s education, adult education, interactive literacy activities for parents and children, and parenting education. Although other literacy approaches may offer one or more of these components, comprehensive family literacy services offer these components as an intentional system of educational influence and intervention.
