ABSTRACT

Reading Rainbow is a well-established PBS children’s series designed to bring the fun of good books, reading and learning for the sheer joy of the experience to our young viewers (targeting 5- to 8-year-olds). Centering each theme around a feature book, the programs use on-location segments to engage children in enriching adventures related to the book’s theme. Three books are reviewed and promoted by young readers who entice the viewers with more book choices. The series first was aired in 1983.
