ABSTRACT

From the early days of the 20th century, the loose or imprecise use of psychological terminology has been recognized as a problem (Block, 2000). The concept of aggression is no exception as Tremblay (1991) showed. In the so-called jingle-jangle problem the jingle fallacy refers to the situation in which the same term is used for different entities, whereas in the jangle fallacy, different terms are used for the same underlying construct (Block, 2000).
