ABSTRACT
Distance learning is beginning to play a significant role in the education of firstyear college students. For some-particularly non-traditional students-it represents the sole means by which their college education proceeds. Other firstyear students use distance learning as an adjunct to their more traditional, oncampus courses. In any case, it is clear that distance learning is playing an increasingly important part in the education of 21st-century first-year college students.
