ABSTRACT

The story of the work of the writing program administrator (WPA) in the community college, I suspect, is that it is a story still being written by those of us who work in that space. Like spiders that spin real webs and web designers who spin the virtual ones, community college WPAs work in the world of connectivity and creativity. Our webs are constructed in and for our own contexts. The sites of our work are multiple, complex, and ever-changing. I boldly look for generalizations about community college contexts here, even as I acknowledge it may not be entirely possible to do so.
