ABSTRACT
It was Thursday night. Three college sophomores, Helen, Meg, and Laurie, had just arrived at a typical “start of the weekend” party at a dorm somewhere on campus. 1 They walked in and began to mingle. Jack, a friend from their bio lecture, saw them and tried to get them into the swing of things. Many of their other friends, men and women from classes, dorms, and frats, were there. The party had been going on for some time. Helen, Meg, and Laurie were the only ones who had not joined into the fun. The other students were partying. They were all chanting and taunting the three to join in. After they'd been there a while, they were approached by one of the guys.
