ABSTRACT
The American university has changed dramatically since the establishment of the colleges in the 17th century. The colonial college's White male population is now religiously, ethnically, and racially diverse. The organizational structure has changed, the curriculum has been enhanced, and the methods of academic delivery have been redefined (Pace, 1979, p. 133).
