ABSTRACT

School aggression and violence is a documented problem in many countries around the world (e.g., Goldstein, 1996; Pellegrini, Bartini, & Brooks, 1999; Smith & Morita, 1999). The problem appears particularly serious in the United States, where extensive accounts of school violence have been documented over the last decade (e.g., DeVoe et al., 2003; Gable, Hendrickson, & Sasso, 1995; Goldstein, 1994; Goldstein, Harootunian, & Conoley, 1994).
