ABSTRACT

This chapter combines findings from field studies and the literature that address the issues of school leadership and its impact on the successful schooling of English language learners (ELLs). Additionally, the chapter presents leadership in terms of a supportive model, which provides a framework that enables schools to create successful schooling experiences for all students. The model is further clarified through a profile of a school situated along the Mexico-U.S. border that exemplifies the model’s components and their application to practice.
