ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I first discuss the idea of “self-fashioning” and its role in modern society. I will then turn to a discourse analysis of how teenagers from different socioeconomic classes fashion themselves in and through language. I end with a discussion of some of the implications of my remarks for schools and society.
