ABSTRACT

The digital point-and-shoot camera is a good, basic, inexpensive camera. It is able to record digital images on internal memory, with most having the ability to record to a memory card of varying sizes. The camera has either a rangefinder-type aiming device or the camera may have a video display screen from which the image can be composed. Most cameras in this category have built-in flashes and are, for the most part, fully automatic. They produce an adequate image but lack the versatility of the digital single lens reflex (SLR).
