ABSTRACT
As we have seen in the corresponding chapter in Part I, a medical practitioner is required to comply with certain statutory requirements to divulge information relating to his patients, even if this means breaching the duty of confidentiality to the patient. The Road Traffic Act 1972 has its equivalent in most of the Australian jurisdictions, so the Hunter v Mann situation (see Chapter 2) would also apply to Australian doctors.
