ABSTRACT

No one would suggest that the law of patents is easy. It is difficult for everyone and covers such a volume of material that it would be possible to devote an entire Question and Answer book to it. It is therefore not surprising that many students avoid questions on the protection afforded to inventions by patents despite some of the fascinating issues that are involved. In order to develop a knowledge of intellectual property law, it is essential to have some knowledge, if only in outline, of the patent system.
