ABSTRACT
Radarsat data is owned and distributed by Radarsat International, and through Radar Solutions in the UK. ERS and Envisat data (see Figure 5.1) is available either through ESA directly for Category 1 use or through distributing entities for Category 2 use. The data cannot be downloaded or ordered online, but order forms can be downloaded. Whilst ERS data is free for research purposes, there are tight restrictions imposed on the use of such data. Additionally, acquiring data free of charge is subject to panel review that may mean that data cannot be acquired for several months after it is requested.
