ABSTRACT
The Women at Risk programme is a comprehensive, community-based treatment alternative to prison, serving women in a four-county region of the State of North Carolina, in the United States of America. Women at Risk assists women to remain out of custody, to succeed on probation, and to recognise and change the self-destructive and abusive behaviours that brought them to the court's attention and the risk of imprisonment.
