ABSTRACT

Media, public and political attention to the problem of child sexual abuse has risen in recent decades. Academic interest has also increased (Corby 2006; Davidson 2005; Beckett 2007; Pritchard 2004; Ashenden 2004; Goldson et al. 2002; Thomas 2000; Marshall 1997; Morrison et al. 1994). There is now a substantial and growing literature on the problem of child sexual abuse. However, one important type of child sexual abuse – that which takes place on and via the internet – remains under-researched.
