Understanding women who commit sex offences book
Sex offending is a multi-faceted phenomenon, no less in women than in men. Recent theoretical explanations of women’s sexual offending focus on the contributions of individual psychology and male-dominated (or ‘patriarchal’) society to the development of sex offending in women. This chapter describes an integrated model that builds on existing research by expanding the theoretical focus to a range of individual, relational, socio-cultural and structural factors.
