ABSTRACT
To some extent interests in crime and older people, and interests in the abuse of older people occupy parallel universes. Different emphases and terms are encountered and different stakeholders reflect and influence the work and concerns of different systems. This chapter takes a local focus in the hope that discussion of adult protection working will shed some light on what it means to put into operation a protective and preventive response to the abuse of individual older citizens.
