ABSTRACT
The term ‘new public management’ (NPM) was originally coined by Christopher Hood in the early 1990s to describe a series of developments that had taken place to transform public administration from its traditional bureaucratic model of the postwar period and that were increasingly apparent in the western world (Hood 1991).
