ABSTRACT
The Police and Justice Act 2006 is a piece of legislation that introduces a number of police reforms, as well as adding further measures relating to anti-social behaviour as part of the Labour government’s ‘Respect’ action plan. It is a multifaceted Act that covers such areas as police training, local police authority membership and powers, fixedpenalty notices and the activities of crime and disorder reduction partnerships.
