ABSTRACT
Established by the Serious Organized Crime and Police Act 2005 and operational from 1 April 2006, the Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA) is an amalgamation of the National Crime Squad, the National Criminal Intelligence Service, the former HM Customs & Excise, the organized trafficking investigation section of HM Immigration Service and the organized crime section of MI5.
