ABSTRACT
Covert policing refers to the conduct of a police investigation of which the subject of the inquiry is unaware, or may be assumed to be unaware, and which infringes or potentially infringes a person’s right to a private life. It also refers to a covert strategy designed to investigate offences, to gather evidence, to prevent or disrupt criminal activity, or to obtain intelligence.
