ABSTRACT
Forensic investigation is the integration of a range of scientific and technological evidence and intelligence in support of a criminal investigation (the identification or elimination of individuals, the identification of productive lines of inquiry or the rejection of a particular hypothesis in the reconstruction of a crime). Forensic investigation requires structured co-operation between police investigative teams and a range of specialists to ensure effective outcomes.
