ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses attention on the Personal Support for Developing Learning Pathways in Custody (PSIC) pilot project. The project was an initiative developed by the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) and was set up as one creative way in which to work with socially excluded young people. Although its focus upon supporting the transition from custody to the community and a focus upon helping young offenders access education and training is aligned with current orthodoxy (Pitts 2001), the project diverges in its methodology and as such fits well with this book's focus on creative work with offenders.
