ABSTRACT

Nick and I left Dominic with my parents one night whilst we went up to the vicarage to attend a christening meeting. At our church they held the actual christenings monthly at a special afternoon service and would have about four to six youngsters involved at the same time. That evening meeting was for those intending to have their service on the first Sunday in September. Ray discussed various issues surrounding the service and the church in general. We thought this would be a good time for Dominic’s christening as it would be the day before we went back to work. This happy event followed by a meal for our closest family and friends would be ideal. The arrangements were duly made and I felt pleased about them. We had decided to ask Roy, Nick’s college friend, to be his godfather, with Claire and Sue (Ben’s mother) as godmothers.
